There are creators, and then there are Matthew Oppenheimers. Actually, there’s only one, but that’s more than enough Matt to handle any project. Whether producing installations at airports, shooting creative portraits, or directing music videos, Matt brings the same level of intensity and passion to the task at hand. Matt’s take on film is forward-thinking and fresh, even though he is remarkably accomplished, having paid dues while piling up an impressive amount of credits in a short period of time.
Corporate clients include Bloomberg, C2MTL, The Fondation du Cancer du Quebec and Playboy, who sent Matthew to cover the Coachella festival for their website. Don’t worry – Matt isn’t all about fun in the sun, although a little Vitamin D can help any Montrealer. This up-and-comer is a veteran of sixteen-hour days as the Unit Production Manager on And Now A Word From Our Sponsor, a comedy film starring Parker Posey and Bruce Greenwood.
With a growing roster of video work for Montreal artists such as Plants and Animals, Bloodshot Bill and Original Prism, as well work on a clip for Australia’s The Death Set, Matt is becoming a go-to producer/director on the local scene. This isn’t the only work he is excited about; Matt has also gained a reputation for himself as a master of the short promo vid, having created clips for hip clothing retailers like Matinique, Citizen Vintage and Rooney.
Equally comfortable on his own or as a leader of a team, Matt is fully proficient with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and a wide range of cameras. Professional but easygoing, confident but always learning, Matt’s intuitive touch is pushing him to the top of the crop. Matt remains available for commissioned editing and directing work as he pursues his dreams of feature film production and direction.
